- Asking someone to do it for you
- Drawing it yourself in Photoshop
- Employing some specialized software
If you have a a company that can do it for you, the job will be a piece of cake. If the designer knows something about 3D, they will want some compensation. Each new box shot or ebook cover will round up to $150. Using Photoshop is okay as long as you know how to make the program do what you want from it. To create everything nicely additional action scripts could be needed that cost extra money. Do not forget the price of Photoshop: it will rob you of $600. A more straightforward 3rd choice is to get yourself some boxshot software. It is good to know that the market of such solutions is huge with the price range of $15-100. There is obviously plenty room for your taste. In reality, there are 3 types of software programs:
